DECLUTTER YOUR SURROUNDINGS
simply your space so it can be properly utilized
get started with minimalism in your home
Make a checklist of all the places in your living space you want to declutter. This can be rooms, or categories. (Living room, kitchen v. Paper, Clothing)
Do the same for digital space. (email, Pinterest, laptop files, photos, etc.)
Devote 20-30 minutes a day to practicing decluttering, and working your way through your checklist. This allows you to avoid burnout and not get rid of things too quickly.

SIMPLIFIED SURROUNDINGS
less surfaces = less places for clutter to gather
keep a goodwill box going, always. drop it off once a month. this allows ample opportunity to let things go, but also time to reconsider.
begin to realize the elements of your home that affect your feelings: do you like natural light? light or dark colors? what kind of fabrics are most comforting to you?
digital space
DISTANCE YOURSELF FROM DISTRACTIONS
keep a clean desktop
reorganize your files regularly, throw things away
online storage vs. external hard drives for photo and document storage
make screen free times and/or spaces
plastic
Go throughout your day as usual, but keep a list of everything plastic you touch throughout the day.

The next day, do the same thing but with non-plastic materials.

Can some of the plastic be eliminated, or substituted?
